PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game consoles offer significant upgrades – and break compatibility with – previous generation consoles in their respective families. PS3 and Xbox 360, each selling over 100 million units.

Both PS4 and Xbox One offer enhanced graphics processors, more memory than previous systems. Redesigned controllers, and all-in-One access to “apps” such as Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, and NFL Network, among others.

Both consoles cost the same; The Xbox One console for $399 without Kinect is appreciated to match PS4. When Microsoft first released the Xbox One, it cost $499 and Kinect combined, offering camera and motion sensing capabilities.

Interface

The Xbox One Interface looks similar to that of the newer Windows 8 computer operating system. You can navigate the interface using the controller, Kinect, or voice commands. Xbox One offers “snapping” apps – that means you can open your application window while you play.

The “Dynamic” menu system is on PS4, allowing you to select a game, view your profile, view activity on social media, and much more. A new key feature on PS4 is the ability to share recordings of your gameplay online; This can be done easily by pressing a button on the controller. Xbox One offers similar services, but only for Xbox Live gold subscribers.

Compatibility with its predecessor

One of the main differences between Xbox One and the previous console is that it will not allow you to play older Xbox 360 or Xbox games directly. Microsoft has said that it is possible to install an Xbox 360 via Xbox One using an HDMI cable to play older games.

Similarly, PS4 won’t offer compatibility to its predecessor, although Sony might offer a cloud-based emulation service for PS3 or older games.

Graphs

Review of the famous blogger and hardware Anand Shimpi of AnandTech saying it is about PS4 vs Xbox One graphical capabilities:

In fact, the PlayStation 4 has more graphic horsepower in its generation than the Xbox One, it is unlikely to be wrong with that fact. Both companies have the same GPU architecture licenses (graphics processing unit), but the Sony chip has 1152 “cores” compared to Microsoft’s 768. Microsoft is running its core at a slightly higher pace, but mathematics works on Sony that has around a 40% peak. Advantages of potential graphical performance.

Games used

Microsoft drew criticism over its now-revoked policy that would limit the sale and reuse of used games. Integral to that old policy, the Xbox One unit requires users to connect to the Internet every 24 hours to synchronize games. If a user refuses to do this, they won’t be able to use the saved game. Microsoft revoked the policy in June 2013, eliminating the connection requirements, among them.

Sony does not restrict the trading of disk games between PS4 users. There is no system that allows sharing of digital games.

Controller

The DualShock PS4 control features a DVR game-sharing button, a clickable touchpad, built-in mono speakers and headphones, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and a stereo camera interface that senses the players ‘ environment. The controller uses Bluetooth 2.1 to connect to the console.

While the Xbox One controller looks similar to the older Xbox controllers, Microsoft is touting 40 upgrades. Microsoft added the “menu” and “View” buttons. Users can recharge the controller using a USB cable.

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller

In June 2015 Microsoft announced the launch of their Xbox Elite Wireless Controller, priced at $149 and with availability starting in October 2015. The new controller adds easy-to-change parts that allow gamers to personalize it to suit their needs, preferences and playing style. The new section includes 4 bumper pads (under the handle), a hair trigger lock for precise control and faster firing on FPS games, and textured rolling pads for standard D-pad switching.

Removable and External Hard Drives

Only PS4 offers a removable hard drive, which means users can upgrade the unit 500 GB of factory if necessary.

Xbox One also offers a 500 GB hard drive, but users can’t replace it. Xbox One includes two USB ports aimed at offering external storage if the console owner uses all 500 GB. There is also a 1TB Xbox One version that costs $ (total of $399), which is a better choice for gamers who want more storage space.

In March 2017, Sony announced the update 4.50 “Sasuke” to the PS4 console and PS4 Pro. This update allows the owners of the PlayStation VR headset to watch Blu-ray 3D movies and also supports an external hard drive up to 8TB. An external hard drive connects to your PS4 via USB and you can install the game on an external hard drive instead of the built-in PS4 hard drive. Xbox does not support external hard drives.

Camera

Unlike the Xbox One, Sony will be selling motion-sensing PlayStation 4 Eye separately for $59.99. Microsoft’s Kinect camera is included with Xbox One. Kinect allows users to control the Xbox One system using biometric scanning. Kinect can recognise different users based on their voice.

Application

PS4 will offer free access to several apps, including Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hulu Plus. Subscription service is not free from the system, only access to the application. Xbox One users must subscribe to an Xbox Live Gold subscription to access the app, as well as Skype.

Bluetooth Capabilities

Only PS4 will use Bluetooth technology to connect the console peripherals. In addition to controllers, PlayStation Move, and PS4 headsets, the console can connect with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

Subscription service

Both PS4 and Xbox One will require subscriptions to their respective services to play games online. This is the first for PlayStation gamers, since PlayStation Plus membership is free with previous console versions. PS + subscriptions will be able to have gamers $5 or monthly.

Similarly, Xbox One requires an Xbox Live Gold membership for $ per year to access many console features, including online game play, free demo games and previews, and face-to-face chats using Kinect. Subscribing to the Xbox Live Gold service is often available at a discounted price at Amazon.com.

Xbox Live Gold

Before June 2014, Microsoft required a subscription to Xbox Live Gold to use apps such as Netflix and Hulu. Microsoft has opened the Xbox One platform so that all owners can use this streaming app, as well as other online services such as OneDrive, Skype without requiring a subscription.

Xbox Live Gold subscribers now benefit from Game with Gold and Deals with the Gold program, which offers free games and discounts for games and content on the Xbox Store. The membership fee is approximately $60 per year.

Features of Xbox Live Gold subscriptions, including comparisons of Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Security issues

In December 2014, a group of hackers who named himself Lizard Squad dropped Xbox Live and PlayStation Network through DDoS attacks. While Microsoft was able to bring Xbox Live back up with relative speed, Sony took more time before being able to get the PlayStation Network back to normal operation. Sony’s security recordings have triggered several hacking incidents where they have become victims.

Exclusive games

Writing for Forbes, Paul Tassi says that the exclusive difference between PS4 and Xbox One has widened:

Sony has grown a mandatory game park on PS4, while you can only say the same for some titles on Xbox One, and even in this case, it helps become a huge fan of the X series first. … The dynamics of power has shifted, and Microsoft feels lost, as they stick to the old circuit that has long ceased to evolve or innovate, and they fail to plant seeds for the future. Sony is not perfect and has its own fault (* cough * order), but trying as much as possible, I just do not think the exclusive extension of both systems is even comparable at the moment. . Sony will come out many times, and as we prepare to have The Last of Us 2 parallel to The fight against Decay 2 and God of War 4 against Crackdown 3, and so on, I just don’t think it will change.

There are many popular games available on both systems, including Call of Duty: Ghosts, Madden 25, NBA Live, Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Plain, and Assassin’s Creed IV: Flag Black.

But each console also has an exclusive game that is only available on that console.

Game available on PS 4

PS4 ‘s exclusive games include Horizon Zero Dawn, Until Dawn, Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, The Last Guardian, Nioh, The Last of Us 2 and God of War 4. The old PS4 exclusive Game announced at the time of its launch were the Dark Sorcerer, Deep Down, Drive Club, Killzone Shadow Fall, Infamous Second Son, Knack, Secret Ponchos, Order 1866, PlayRoom, RIME, Shadow of the Beast, and everybody’s Gone to the Rapture.
